PHYSICIANS
KW Urgent Care Clinics are staffed with Physicians who are experienced in Acute Care, Primary Care and Emergency Medicine as well as various specialties. Onsite emergency facilities include Spinal boards, Oxygen, Suction, Nebulization therapy, Automated External Defibrillators, Electrocardiography, Slit Lamp, Tonometry, Ophtho-burrs, and Eyewash Stations, Suturing, Casting, and Foreign Body removal as well as Procedure Rooms for minor surgeries. Emergency Drugs are stored on our crash carts.
We have a live PACS system for viewing X-ray and Ultrasound studies performed within our facility in the Diagnostic Imaging Department run by True North Imaging, Inc.
Our physicians have the training and experience to recognize all serious illnesses and arrange Ambulance transfer to the appropriate nearby hospitals when necessary. Several of our physicians continue to work in Emergency Departments and Hospitals throughout the province.
Physician weekday work hours are 8 am to 5 pm. Weekend and Statutory holiday work hours are from 8 am to 3 pm. Remuneration occurs through OHIP as well as uninsured collections at the registration desk less overhead and paid monthly.
Follow-up care outside of same-day services such as Xray is effected by processes for Lab results and Specialist Reports to be followed up daily to identify patients requiring follow-up care.
Physicians looking to seek locum employment at Urgent Care are required to submit a letter of interest, CV, evidence of adequate Malpractice Insurance coverage, References as well as present for a Personal Interview.
NURSES
We hire Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) in addition to providing training opportunities for select candidates. Excellence in triaging and acute care experience is always an asset for working in a fast-paced clinical setting. We provide competitive remuneration, flexible scheduling, and logistical support, in a caring environment.
Our Nurses routinely check equipment including our Resuscitation Room, Vaccine Refrigeration, and are responsible for Autoclaving Surgical Equipment, Stocking and Inventory Checks as well as dealing with Public Health issues outside of their Clinical duties.
We have a communication system for Nursing Staff collaboration and communication including knowledgeable experienced Staff at two separate sites that are only a phone call away.
We have a professional scheduler to manage the complexities of the Clinic’s two clinical locations as well as coverage for breaks, maternity leaves, vacations and other elements that comprise the job satisfaction that comes from flexible scheduling.
Nursing weekday work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm although it is expected that Nursing Staff arrive by 7:45am and stay till 6pm if necessary. Weekend and Statutory holiday hours are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm with similar requirements for arrival at 7:45am and staying for 1 hour after closure.
We pay competitive hourly rates that are indexed to tenure and job performance reviews and commensurate with experience.
CLERKS / RECEPTIONISTS
In addition to medical staff, the clinic employs receptionists and other support staff who provide tremendous clinical support and a welcoming face to our respected patient clientele.
Many of our Reception Staff have gone on to careers in health care and are very familiar with the day-to-day processes governing the running of a medical facility.
